Our law firm was founded in 1964 by Corrado Casanti. Building on the professional relations established over the years with leading companies in the fashion sector, the firm has developed specific expertise in the areas of intellectual property, counterfeiting and distribution contracts (agencies and franchising), both in Italy and at an international level.
The firm opened its Rimini office during the 1980s. Filippo Casanti joined the firm in 1993. Initially an exclusively civil practice, the horizons of the firm were broadened in the late 1990s, when collaboration with Luigi Renni extended the available expertise into the criminal sector. During the first decade of the new millennium the firm was joined by the lawyers Elisa Succi and Maria Elena Casanti in the civil sector, followed later by Maruska Santini.
In order to meet the needs of our foreign clients, the Milan office was opened in 2010 in collaboration with Piazza e Associati, where Massimo Piazza specialises in employment law and Roberto Piazza is an Italian public accountant.
During 2014, the firm started collaborative relations with Paolo Migani, a trademark consultant, and Andrea Busca, a patent consultant, who are both recognised by the Italian Patents Office and the Community Trademarks Office. The new Rimini office was opened as a consequence of this expansion.
Our firm is now a well consolidated practice, active internationally, that provides clients with in-depth expertise in the principal sectors of commercial and competition law, with a special focus on industrial and patent law. Activities are supported by a proven and efficient global network of correspondent firms based in the major capital cities.
